Watch what awaits you at Louisville Holi Mela 2026
Holi, widely known as the Festival of Colors, is one of India's most joyful spring celebrations. The festival represents the spirit of love, happiness, and togetherness.
In recent years, Holi has gained remarkable popularity across Europe and North America, inspiring major cultural events and "Color Run" celebrations on university campuses and in cities nationwide. Its inclusive nature transcends boundaries of race, age, and background, bringing communities together in a vibrant expression of unity.
This year's Holi Mela will feature a lively blend of Indian cuisine, carnival games, cultural workshops, music and dance performances, and a diverse marketplace of clothing and jewelry vendors. Beginning at 3 PM, the festivities will culminate in the traditional color play!

Help us keep Holi Mela safe, fun, and inclusive for everyone
Louisville Hindi Paathshaala, Inc. is a Section 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, established with the aim of teaching Hindi as a second language. Hindi is the national language of India, and the fourth most widely spoken language in the world along with English, Spanish and Mandarin.
It is run by a group of 20 passionate volunteer teachers, who conduct classes every Friday evening at Zachary Taylor Elementary School (a JCPS school) to teach Hindi to a mix of 99 students, including Hindus, Christians, Muslims, Caucasians and East Asians, of ages between 6 and 45, drawn from across the Louisville diaspora.
We have come a long way from our humble beginning of 15 students just a few years ago, and aspire to make Hindi a JCPS course like Spanish and Latin.
